Aperture Desk Job TV Tropes
The Aperture Desk Job is a short game that shows off the controls of the Steam Deck. There are other games based on the Portal series, including Lab Rat, a comic book about the creator Doug Rattman that takes place before the game was released. There’s also The Final Hours of Portal 2: An Interactive Digital Book about the game’s development. Lastly, there’s Portal: The Uncooperative Cake Acquisition Game, a tabletop game that features the same characters and setting as the Portal games.
standard office setting
In the Aperture game, your desk job is to inspect toilets. This job is extremely boring, at least for the first three minutes of gameplay. However, once you get past that, you’ll have a lot of fun with the other jobs on your desk, including the Soul-Crushing Desk Job and the Desk Jockey. This game is also notable for inventing the concept of turrets in its main game. Toilets are actually the prototype turrets in Aperture.
