BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) — The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.
SCIENTISTS AWARDED
Two Chinese scientists, aircraft designer Gu Songfen and nuclear expert Wang Dazhong, won China’s top science award Wednesday for their outstanding contributions to scientific and technological innovation.
The ceremony, held in Beijing to honor distinguished scientists, engineers and research achievements, was attended by approximately 3,000 people and honored 264 projects, with 46 winning the State Natural Science Award, 61 the State Technological Invention Award, and 157 the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
IPR PROTECTION
China has recently issued a major plan on IPR protection and application work for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), highlighting innovation, application and protection in the sector, according to IPR authorities.
The plan is a blueprint with detailed targets and measures for the country to embark on a journey to strengthen its intellectual property undertakings, the National Intellectual Property Administration (NIPA) said.
CULTURAL RELICS PROTECTION
China will improve the application of sci-tech in cultural relics protection during the country’s 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), said an official with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
A plan on cultural relics protection and sci-tech innovation will be released. China will continuously strengthen the basic research and interdisciplinary research to deepen the understanding of civilization and cultural relics and improve the theoretical system of cultural relics protection.
REMOTE-SENSING SATELLITES
China launched a group of remote-sensing satellites from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Wednesday.
The second group of the Yaogan-32 satellite family was launched by a Long March-2C rocket with an attached upper stage at 3:43 p.m. (Beijing Time) and entered the planned orbit.
